I opted not to participate in any fall home tours this year because I just wasn’t feeling it. I’ve noticed the urge to share less of our own home lately as I’ve been less focused on our home and much more inspired by client spaces. It’s a good thing overall, but I will admit that I did feel a bit left out when all of the beautiful home tours went live over the past couple of weeks. It just didn’t feel right for me to join in though. I know that means less blog content, which is a bummer, but it is what it is.
That being said, I did style up a tiny little subtle fall entryway, which is actually in our living room. We don’t have a real entry, so I created a vignette near the front door. It’s not enough to make a full fall tour out of it, but it was enough to hold me over.
With our pink walls, the fall decor had to be unconventional, which is definitely trending with seasonal decor these days…. I went with a pop of plum, several cozy textures and cute little pumpkins which all came from At Home.
You all know how I feel about At Home. I had never shopped there until my patio makeover this spring, but it’s always one of the first places I list off when friends ask me where to find affordable pieces/decor.
That plum wall hanging anchors the vignette and is my favorite detail. It feels cozy but not overdone, which was just what I wanted.
What did your fall decorating look like this year? Was this post a total downer or can anyone relate to the thought of feeling put out by seasonal decor? This entryway tied me over so that I didn’t feel like a total slacker with my own home………. Hey, maybe I’ll be a bit more inspired for the holidays….
