Several months back Michelle reached out to me about turning an upstairs room off of the stairs into a modern TV lounge for her teenage boys. When I asked Michelle how she wanted the space to feel, she said “modern, eclectic, and fun”. She described her own style as transitional but since this room was right outside of her two sons’ bedrooms, she wanted this to be a space for them to enjoy. There are two desks that Michelle already had (not pictured), but she wanted to finish out the space with a lounge area for the boys.
I presented two options to Michelle and we ultimately went with the first option although that changed a bit after all was said and done.

And now, the fun part.
We went with the sofa, rug, art, pillows and overall color scheme from design board #1 and the credenza from design board #2. After everything was purchased and had arrived, I went accessory shopping and that’s where the rattan and woven accents came in. I love the texture that the baskets and stool bring in.
