Fall Home Tour 2015

fall home tour 2015

Happy Labor Day to you!  I hope you are spending it how you should be – doing a whole lot of nothing.  I always consider Labor Day weekend to be the real start to fall even if it doesn’t feel like it outside.  An old, outdated rule says you can’t wear white after Labor Day because summer whites are supposed to be a thing in the past.  I still love whites for fall, but that’s beside the point.  People made a rule a long time ago that basically said summer is over, and I say okay to summer officially being over but I can’t say that’s stopping me from wearing white past this day.

Today we are kicking off the first day of fall home tours put on by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life.  Marty is truly a gem and was so kind to include me in this huge celebration of decorating for fall.

If you are here from Peaceful Home Decor, welcome!  Wasn’t her tour gorgeous?!

I think fall is all about feeling and looking cozy as the temps start to drop for a much needed break from the summer heat.  I really didn’t bring in too many “heavy” colors and textures as most traditionally do because our home is already pretty rich in color.  I am loving mustard and brought that in through small details.

  1. I love the color, pattern and mix of styles in your home. Your bedroom is one of my all time favorites, love that wallpaper and I can’t wait to see the dining area. I spotted some fabulous wallpaper there too. Gorgeous.

  2. Mmmmm…. I love the warm fall touches you added! Especially the mustard + plum in the bedroom! Such a stunning combo!

I certainly wish it *felt* more like fall here in Texas… By the time the weather turns cooler and I’m actually inspired to do some fall tweaking, everyone else has already moved on to the holidays! Maybe I’ll just crank the AC and pretend 🙂

  3. I always love seeing pics of your home – it is one of the most interesting ones (and I mean interesting in a wonderful way!) out there – so much layering and beautiful textures! Love your fall touches! I’m all about that mustard/citrine color too right now! BTW, where did you get your mustard bed pillows (love!)?

  4. I definitely wear white after Labor Day! And I am from the south…..yes that rule was from long ago:) Love your fall tour….love your style…have a relaxing day!

  5. Okay, you and your home are beautiful as always! I knew you would kill it! Love all the small touches that make a big impact! Way to go friend!

  6. Love it so much, Claire! I’m dying for that purple throw. Purple is so great, yet I never, ever use it–but I think that needs to change! I have major stars in my eyes for your dining room project. Can’t wait to see more!

  7. Love.. love all the fall touches! Such a treat to spend the weekend with you and shop! Good luck in your many other projects and deadlines this month…can’t wait to see them❤️
