diy // nailhead trim

Good morning!  Today I am sharing how we updated our master bedroom headboard.  Like many of you, I drool over anything with nailhead trim.  It gives furniture a clean and polished look, and I can’t get enough of it!  Here is some inspiration:

Here is an iPhone picture I snapped of our headboard before the makeover:

We did reupholster our headboard, but I don’t have any pictures because we did this project before I started the blog.  Plus, I don’t consider myself advanced enough to provide a reupholstery tutorial. Tricky stuff!  Good news is that there are many wonderful DIY bloggers out there that have provided great tutorials on this.  Here is a fabulous

Back to the DIY nailhead trim.  I found this roll of trim at Michaels for around $15.00.

It comes in a roll like this.

The people that create this stuff are genius.  It doesn’t get any easier than this!!

Just line the trim where you want it, and hammer in the extra tacks in the holes.  Done and done.

  1. Very cute Claire. I used 164 single silver nail tacks for a chair I did for Amelia's apartment. It took me forever, I will be using the connected on my next project!

  2. Thank you, Mrs. Smith! WOW, that is so impressive! Amelia is so lucky to have you! I bet the chair turned out to be an adorable addition to her apartment!
