Eclectic Bedroom on a (Seriously Tight) Budget

How is this entire bedroom under $1000? Adorable! | Claire Brody Designs

A while back I got an e-design inquiry that unfortunately didn’t end up working out because of budget restraints.  I wish I could work with everyone that inquires, but it doesn’t always work out.  I told the lady that I would definitely work on putting together some budget friendly designs for blog content with her in mind.  Fast forward a few months and Laura (I hired an assistant!!!!) and I are talking about how LOW we can get on a bedroom design.  And when I say “how low can we get” I mean without lacking style….

Sooo… Laura put together this design board that came in right under $1000 at $972 to be exact.  Laura didn’t skimp on any details either — She sourced everything from furniture to accessories.  It might take more time for us to put together a bedroom design board for under $1000 (searching for extremely budget friendly pieces is quite time consuming), BUT this goes to show that it can be done.

Rug – This rug adds SO much depth to the design.  It’s so vibrant, and I love the way it plays with the pink shades.

Headboard – This headboard is goo, and at a ridiculous price point.  I’ve always thought that Urban Outfitters is underrated.  They have such great, unique pieces for SO cheap.

Dresser – I love the contrast in wood tones with the dresser and headboard.  The dresser almost wants to feel a bit rustic (but the brass knobs take care of that) but the rustic feel still works with the boho headboard.

Drawer Pulls -I’ll be 100% honest and say that I had no idea CB2 had drawer pulls. What? What!!! So good. And so cheap.

Side Tables -Such a simple yet perfectly functional side table.

Chair -This is such a great alternative (actually it’s probably even better) for the $500 hanging chair from Serena and Lily and other similar shops. This has been the cheapest (yet still good looking) hanging chair I’ve come across.

Striped Pillow -It looks like Laura just landed the Turkish pillow jackpot with that Etsy shop….

Navy Pillow -Love how this small scale navy print grounds the pillow combo.

Blush Sham -This sham is named “shabby chic” but thankfully it isn’t.  I love the touch of blush this sham adds.

Pot – Definitely a go-to for pots.

Plant – And plants. 11.99???

Lamps – Cute lil table lamp there.

Frames -Great frames for the art prints.

Mini Yellow Plant -A pop of yellow is always a good idea.

Good Vibes Print – This shop is having 75% off prints. (This print is $1.25)

Pink Abstract Print -Lovely colors in this print.

Clock – Love that even though this room design came in under $1000, it still has all of the small details like a wall clock.

What do you think?? I was really impressed with what $1,000 got us here!

xo,

Claire

  1. Oh my, all the pillow goodness, this week, Claire! I can’t stand it. Your assistant did a great job. All of my One Room Challenges have come in at about $1,000 which to me is appalling…but I realise that that is about as low as I can get without looking like an Ikea showroom, lol!
